The Goings-On with Addysen

  • A Re-Cap of the Last Few Days:

Well the writing has been a little stale lately, admittedly, but that doesn't mean the end of posts!

On Saturday, the 7th, I posted the first chapter of Not Exactly Perfect, the second installment in the 'Potentially Problematic' collection. It is starting out great in my opinion, but I would LOVE to hear what my wonderful readers think. I live for reviews! The chapters are much lengthier than those of Not Quite Beautiful, however, that may not continue that way totally. I only have the first two chapters written and expect at least six more to follow. I have an outline plotted, but it's just a matter of sitting my butt down and concentrating long enough to write the next bit. I hope to have it done in a timely fashion, finishing the whole short story by the end of summer . . . If my past record is any indication, I might not make that deadline but I'll sure as hell try!

Also, I've made a change to one of my story's titles. It is one of my older one-shots with a lame title, and it had a banner that was created not long after I learned to use Photoshop - so long story short, Ive always hated it and it had to go!

Here is the new banner for my refreshed one-shot:

The previous title was Redemption, and before that it was Redemption to the Deserving - both of which I was never satisfied with. This is sure to be that last change in title; I can't foresee my absolute love for this one dying out in the next couple years. The current version is called The Malevolent Cure, but I just want to prepare you readers that just because I've updated these bits doesn't mean I've gotten around to editing the meat of the story. I know it needs it, but I have to find the time in my ever increasing and self-inflicted work-load.

One final note, quickly. 'The Dark Intentions Revitalization Project' is now at chapter 12, of 23. This chapter is the first I've revised that has proved to need a complete rewrite at certain sections. I have made a plan to add in a previously non-existant concept and this may take some time. The project has not stalled!

  • Of Posts and Revisions

Today I posted Rocking Horse on My Author's Page. It is a dark and sensitive One-shot about Hermione's inner demons after a horrendous happenstance. It isn't terribly long at 1,700-and-some words, but I am warning all who chose to read it that it isn't for the faint of heart, if you will. If you are up to it, please read and review; let me know what you thought of my most depressing story to date!

Also, just an update on the 'Dark Intentions Revitalization Project', which is what I have dubbed my revision as. Currently, of the 23 posted chapters, I have revised 10 of them. I have actually looked at my word could on DI and noticed I've beefed the story by over 5,000 words so far alone. I'm not even half way through! I'm very proud of how the changes and mods are coming along, so I hope you all give it a chance.

  • Summer Fever

This time of year seems to be hefty when it comes to weddings, so with that in mind, I chose to finish up and post Calkwalk. It runs at about 4600 words-and-some-change in length, but was super fun to write.

Hope you check it out and leave a review. It is one of my favorites so far.

  • 'Dark Intentions' Intended to be Revitalized

June 28th was the start of something amazing, the revizing of one of my oldest, toughest, and most popular stories, Dark Intentions. As of right now, seeing as it's the 3rd of July, I have revitalized 7 of the current 23 chapters posted. This project contains many different aspects, of which I have explain at the very start of the 1st chapter. It reads:

Note To All (Updated June 28, 2012): I will be going
through this story over the next little while and revising every chapter. This
will consist of the correction of spelling mistakes, punctuation errors, and
the hefty modification of some facts and points. 'Dark Intentions' will
essentially be rewritten, brand new and revitalized chapter by chapter. I may
suggest that you reread the updated portions of this story, seeing as I have
changed many things and added, in some cases, thousands of words to each
    section.

Thank you for your cooperation in the re-validation
of this story for no chapter additions, I know it's missleading and annoying,
but it's for the best in the end.

I hope to have these changes completed by the end of July, and, along with previously written submissions from the Post of 10, is all you will most likely see from me this month. I am setting my bar lower than I have in the past as to encourage myself to actually complete a goal for once!

So, all in all, if you haven't checked out DI before, please do; and if you have - but it was a while ago - give it a shot from the beginning. You'll find that there are many new bits and pieces to enjoy! Now, once I have finished my revisions, my intention is to continue to write the final chunk - however hefty it may end up to be - and get it all posted before I forget what happens again and have to reread it for myself!

I'll try to keep you all updated.

    Happy reading!

  • July

As of this morning, A Mission's Irony is now revised and COMPLETE. It's the end of the Draco/ Ginny short story, but it may not be the finale of the tale itself. Ideas are percolating. Just sayin'.

With the HPFF vacation queue closure does not come the end of posts for the week. I sit with Trusted Author status, so I won't let you down with additions to my story collection; they will continue!

I am also now working on another new Draco/ Hermione fic, intended to be a Novella. It is in the planning stages right now, although, all that is left is to detail the specifics and devise an ending to the entire thing. Sorting out the plot is always the most fun! I love it.

I'm sad no one has reviewed AMI, or The Ghost of a Champion yet. But I understand. The Cho/ Cedric, and Ginny/ Draco ships are not among the most popular. That's okay by me; gotta write outside the box!

Rocking Horse will most likely be the next post I release, however, Not Exactly Perfect and Cake Walk could be contenders as well.

Happy July! And if you live up in Canada, Happy Canada Day!

  • Prettier Posts

Recently, I've posted not only another of my pending stories, The Ghost of a Champion, but also 3 new banners for existing fics:

Sugar & Spice (to match it's up-coming sequel):

Ten Things I Hate About You:

    and Dark Intentions (Yay!!!):

Fresh faces to old loves. Revisions have also started on DI and AMI. Soon I will run out of inventory since I just can't stop wanting to post eveything at once!

That's all for today. Happy Wednesday to y'all!

  • Seems Logical

Last night I battled a wonderful overdose on sugar. This is something which I never do since I have sensitive teeth and very few junk cravings, but wouldn't you know it, I did it anyway. Today I'm paying the price for shoving down two pieces of cake and a huge cinnamon bun, all with thick cream-cheesy icing. Did I mention I'm lactose intolerant?

Hey crippling stomach pain! How's it going?

But it's not all bad. My cake fixation has migrated me to an old idea, all but forgotten until yesterday when I updated it's predicessor's banner.

Cake Walk has finally come alive! For those of you who were fans of Sugar & Spice, You'll know my intentions of writing a sequel have been existent since I posted S&S. That was almost 4 years ago! Now we are resurrected, plotted, 750-odd words in, and even equipped with a shiny new banner!

Feast your eyes on the 1st draft:

Inspiration comes out of literally anything.

  • The Will Power of a Bribed Monkey

    I caved! I admit it.

Strictly Seven is now posted, as of midnight almost on the nose.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to cry myself to sleep over my jellyfish-like backbone . . .

    But happy reading!

  • Idealistically Speaking,

The 10 posts are finally all composed . . . in my head!

I've had a stale few days as I seem to be running low on energy and too tired to continue to write stories, however this is soon to change. Two nights ago I sat up, read the end of Deathly Hallows (just the '19 years later' bit), and began sprouting ideas about every character from Victoire Weasley, Gideon Prewitt, and Astoria Greengrass, to even the Peverell brothers, and Luna and the Scamanders. Literally, in front of me right now is a stack of 21 (both front and back) post-its -- which used to all be from a brand new and now almost empty pad -- of 100 percent pure ideas.

The Post of 10 count is officially at 8, but the final two ideas are well formed and just remain to be written.

On that note, I'm not sure how long my will is going to allow me to fight the commencement of editing my Author's page (new banners to some existing stories and revised summaries), and my previously posted fiction. I have ichy fingers to do it and I'm afraid that if I don't start I won't want to even bother later on when the impulse leaves me. You never know, that could be in a year or just a few days. :S <--- Uneasy face.

  • Flaming Fingertips, Batman!

Cleaning out the old computer files and I found a nice little Short Story I forgot I had been working on:

    Not Exactly Perfect

It is the second part in a trilogy of sorts, dubbed the Potentially problematic collection, about the misguided and awkward antics of everyday life when teenagers start to fall in love. The first installment in this series is Not Quite Beautiful, which I wrote approximately four years ago, centering around the relationship of Ron and Hermione in sixth year. Not Exactly Perfect takes place sixth year as well, but in another story universe; the two shorts are not coexistant and in sync with one another. This second part to the collection focuses on the relationship between Harry and Ginny, whilst Ginny is involved with Dean Thomas. It is light-hearted and silly so far, even though I am only two chapters in, and I'm going to beat my own game by adding them to the Post of 10.

Total count = 8 submissions pending.

Only two more, plus final touches and endings and the Post of 10 is complete!

My hands hurt with how much writing and editing I've been doing. I think I've sprained some fingers . . .

About Me

  • I am currently an author on HarryPotterFanFiction, where I go by AddysenMalfoy. Though it is not my real given name, I've always loved the name Addison, but hated the spelling. So I tweaked it and it became the perfect pename. My fanfiction specialties are Dramione with the ever-increasing random fic. I have decided to create this blog so that I can post updates to let my faithful readers know what's going on with me and what I am working on at the moment.
